Last month, I registered for an online course that I taught that would be fully online, but after registration, I later figured that it was a mix of physical meet-ups and an online programme. For this course, I would be learning about cloud computing using AWS and some other tech skills needed, which are hosted by ALX Engineering.

I have been troubled about continuing the programme because I have been thinking of how I would be transporting myself every week to Lagos and still having to meet up with school activities. The stress would be a lot, not to even talk about the money that would be spent on travelling alone. I am not sure I can afford to spend $20 per week to and fro and still have my living expenses to worry about.

The institute had an onboarding programme last week, which I missed because I didn't have the funds to transport myself and also because I had some duties in the church. Although I really wanted to be in the onboarding meeting to get to know how things would go and learn more about the programme before making conclusions on whether to continue the programme or not,

Fortunately for me, there would be another onboarding programme that would be held tomorrow, and I would have to attend the meeting in order to complete my registration for the course. I have spent a lot of time thinking about the transportation expenses and the sacrifice I need to make to be there.

To ease things down on me, I called my dad to tell him about my plans to come to Lagos. Maybe he could help me with some funds, and fortunately, my dad also wanted my presence at home because he needed me to come home to play the guitar at a vigil that we would have at my home church in Lagos. I was also happy to hear this, so I easily asked him to send money for transportation.

For me, this means that my transportation home and back to school has been settled, and my dad will have to pay for it. I had to quickly use that moment to ask him if he would be able to drive me on Saturday to the place I was going, which is Victoria Island, in order to still cut every transportation fare I would be spending. I didn't get a straight reply, but he said he would think about it and that I needed to get home first.

In a few hours, I will be travelling to Lagos. Hopefully, for tomorrow's programme, I will take pictures and share how the event went by.
