I don’t believe in love,
But I fell under its spell
So many times.
I’m an idiot,
Ain't I?
But how could I not be,
When I’m surrounded by all these
Pretty smiles,
Pretty faces,
Pretty eyes,
Pretty lies…
Yes, lies.
Because most of the time,
Love is a lie, a pretty one indeed,
But still a lie.
And that’s the charm of it…
We lie ourselves that we love,
So that we won’t feel the loneliness,
The feeling of despair, the bitterness.
I know all of this.
And still I chase the pretty smile
And the pretty eyes,
Even though I know I could get hurt,
I still prefer to do it, get thrown in the dirt,
Than to be alone,
In cold, in the dark,
Lonely.
I don’t believe in love,
But I still dare to chase it,
So I guess I’m an idiot,
But… a romantic one.
