Hill Giant
Let's take a run down first of this card's lore and stats.
Edition: CHAOS LEGION
Rarity: COMMON
Element: EARTH
Attack: MELEE
Abilities: STUN at Lvl 6
Hill Giants live in the Talus Bluffs on the outskirts of the volcano known as the Mountain of Ash. They are nomadic people that travel from hilltop to hilltop following herds of deer and cattle. Though they are intimidating, Hill Giants are typically more far more inquisitive of other cultures and seek to learn from them rather than attack. However, if they need to defend themselves, they attack by ripping boulders from the ground and are able to hurl them up to a mile. The people of Praetoria are glad to have them on their side against the Chaos Legion.
With a mischievous grin, the monstrous Gurlk flung the horse-sized boulder across the river, skipping it seven times. He turned to face the other competitors, noticing their frowns. A wide smile curled on his face and he let out a bellowing laugh. - Hill Giant Lore
Line Up
Back row monsters are safe from enemy's Sneak, Snipe and Opportunity attacks. The ruleset places importance on Magic and Ranged attacks as melee attacks loose their ability to hit outside of the first position. Select monsters with high speed and choose a summoner that increases damage or defense against Magic or Ranged attacks. Lining up monsters in ascending order of their health is the way to go. - Splintercards Ruleset
Cards Position
Summoner: Obsidian (Level 2) Since the ruleset is Back to Basics and monsters have no abilities, my strategy is to buff the attack power of each card. To do this, I used Obsidian to add +1 Magic Attack to my monsters. |
|---|
Tank: Hill Giant (Level 3) Since the ruleset is Back to Basics and monsters have no abilities, to use Hill Giant in this ruleset is somehow beneficial, since it will not lose any ability that he has not. At Level 3, it has a nice 7 HP to serve as tank for my magic attack monsters. |
|---|
Attackers: Here are my attackers which are all magic attack cards - Khmer Pricess (Level 2), Goblin Sorcerer (Level 3), Enchanted Pixie (Level 2), Djinn Biljka (Level 1), Magi Of The Forest (Level 2). And these guys will do the work for me. While Hill Giant is providing shield for these monsters, these card will rip the HP of each opponent monster using their buffed magic attack. |
|---|
Did your strategy work?
At the 9th turn of Round 1, my line up defeated the enemy's Djinn OShannus. I think my opponent forgot the ruleset and still use Crustacean King. From this point, the opponent's downfall is in a spiral downward. |
|---|
At the 13th turn of Round 1, Furious Chicken was annihiliated. |
|---|
At the 1st turn of Round 2, Creeping Ooze was killed. |
|---|
At the 4th turn of Round 2, Chaos Agent fell down. |
|---|
At the 6th turn of Round 2, my Hill Giant was defeated by Venari Wavesmith. (Thank you for your service!) |
|---|
At the 9th turn of Round 2, Venari Wavesmith was terminated. |
|---|
And at the last turn of Round 2, Djinn Biljka finished off Crustacean King and this made me the victor of this battle. |
