The harmless house spiders continue to be my best friends in the house, but differences and misunderstandings have arisen between us on some major points. I am happy when they catch and neutralize vermin and bloodsuckers that would otherwise bite me at night. I'm not mad at them for not being able to capture and neutralize other monsters because they're too weak to do so.
But I can't bear to see how they capture and torture some harmless animals that are still alive, like beetles for example.
Well, yes, I know, it's the same with cats. People who keep cats pay for this pleasure by witnessing numerous daily killings - of harmless and useful animals such as shrews, birds, lizards, geckos, butterflies, etc.
Everything has its price, just as everything has its dark side. And despite the killings, we still love our lovely cats, don't we? 😻
But let me tell you about insects. I want to tell you that even an insect realizes when you have saved its life. If minutes before it was struggling in a fairly strong web and could not get out of it, suddenly a hand frees it. It knows what's going on.
You may think that their consciousness is not so developed, but it is not so. Despite the hard life of all of us here, every living thing wants to live. Well, almost every.
