Nasa is intending to make oxygen from the climate on Mars when its next robot touches base on the strange red planet in 2020.
Researchers will send microbial life - potentially green growth or microorganisms - on the 2020 Rover mission in an offer to make air fit for human utilization.
The reserachers will expect to nourish the microorganisms in Martian soil with the expectation that they will direct out oxygen as a byproduct. It would then be able to be made accessible for breathing or utilized as rocket fuel to control return flights to Earth.
