I planted two apple trees just a month or so ago and one of them is already flowering. I wish both of them would, as I do not think a single tree flowering is enough to make fruit.
There are about a half a dozen buds opening. And have a real nice smell to them. The flowers are white and look quite pretty.
A few of them have not opened yet. But for the ones that are open I've seen some pollinators visit them.
It may take a few years before I get apples from these flowers. I need my other apple tree to flower too.
For right now only the Honey Crisp Apple tree is flowering. The other one, the Courtland tree is just producing leaves.
The leaves are fuzzy and soft, reminds me of a plant called lambs ear. I am glad to see it producing leaves and nice to see flowers on the other. But maybe I'll need to wait a few years for fruit.
