This brand you can normally find at a local home depot seems to be not very good. I have bought plastic shovels by this brand in the past and they worked pretty well. I use them when digging around places where there may be underground cables so I can be more careful when digging. Those plastic shovels work "OK" as they tend to break as well after a few hours of use as they are made of plastic. Though I was not expecting the shears of the same brand to fail as well.
In the last week two of my gardening tools have broke, both being the same brand and I am quite disappointed in their quality. My lobbing shears broke off where the plastic meets the metal handle, I can probably do some repair and put something inside of the hole where it broke but it will never be quite the same again.
The second failure came with some pruning shears made by Fiskars. The metal snapped! I was cutting some branches and it just fell apart on me, I have only been using this tool for about a month and it completely broke on me. I will not be able to repair the shears, but maybe if I contact Fiskars they will send me a new one. I sure hope they do not expect me to mail them back the broken one.
It was pretty cold the morning I was using it, in the 30s but I doubt thats enough to break them. Seems like the metal had some kind of defect in it making it snap on me.
The lobbing shears lasted about five years but I really expect my tools to last decades, not a few months or a few years.
These may be my last purchases from such a brand, as I have never had two tools of the same brand break so close together. Maybe thats what I get for trying to save money but I would think there would have been better than they were.
Maybe you have had better experience with this brand, maybe I was just unlucky to get some sub-par quality tools from the same brand others own. But I have a feeling its just low quality and not meant to be "power used" like I tend to do with my tools.
Now I need to buy some new lobbers and shears, but not sure which brand to buy. Ill do some research and hope what I am reading is not a bought for review or such.
