Cambios que he contemplado desde hace un par de meses atr谩s y que he decidido de una forma bien meditada.
Has intentado cuanto ejercicio para la productividad has conseguido: pomodoros, trackers de h谩bitos, rutinas y horarios...

ENGLISH
Yesterday I finished reading my first book of 2024. I think this reading sets a guideline about my needs, aspirations and desires for this new beginning. I can realize that I am getting the necessary tools to face the coming changes. Changes that I have been contemplating for a couple of months now and that I have decided in a well thought out way.
I read "A manual for living" by Epictetus, and I would like to share with you, below, 5 reasons why you should read it too.
It is a very short book, it can be read in 1 1/2, 2 hours. I start with this information because I know that there are many people eager to integrate reading into their lives, and that this is usually a common New Year's resolution. This is a good book to do so. It is simple, separated by subtopics that you can propose to read at different times of your day (one at a time, to make it an even smoother read). Each of the sections gathers, in a concise way and without digressions, teachings and valuable contributions for your life.
Manual de Vida" is a good book to start 2024, if you are in search of happiness, a quiet or serene life. If you want to work more on yourself, your thoughts, beliefs, emotions and/or behaviors. If you want to know how to cope with external situations, situations that sometimes annoy, sadden, upset or excite you too much.
3.- If you are looking to work on your self-control and self-mastery. Maybe you have a goal in mind, a project, an idea, but you don't end up achieving anything. You think you lack "willpower", that you can't, that you don't have the tools to achieve it. You have tried all the exercises for productivity that appear on the internet: pomodoros, habit trackers, routines and schedules... Maybe the answer is not outside but inside you. This book is a walk into our inner world.
If you are going through a difficult time, a loss, the end of something, an uncomfortable or upsetting situation, a betrayal. Perhaps you feel guilt, fear or resentment and do not know very well what to do about it, how to deal with the situation. This reading will help you to change the direction of your thinking, with the main premise that "there are things that are under your control, and others that are not ". It will help you to adopt a serene, contemplative and accepting position.
5.- If you are interested in Stoic philosophy, you have read or heard something about it and this way of being and living attracts your attention.
To write this review I went back to the fragments that I highlighted in yellow and are some of the phrases that I share in this publication. They are phrases that resonated in me, about freedom, wisdom, will, character, reputation, moderation, among other topics that concern philosophy and psychology. It is worth noting that I disagreed with some points and wrote them down, for example, refraining from questioning the role we have been assigned in life, or the fact of putting family ties above one's own principles and values. However, these are two points that I believe also correspond to a specific time and context. In that sense, I am very satisfied with the time invested in this book.
"A manual for living" is a short text full of knowledge. I recommend it to those who wish to live a life of wholeness and fulfillment.
You can easily get the PDF version on the internet, and also the audiobook on Youtube. The version I read is the one by Sharon Lebell.
