I am one of those who think that enjoying a good cup of coffee at home has its own charm. It is something daily, routine but at the same time satisfying, a safe place. We know each one of the steps to prepare our ideal coffee at home: the amount of ground coffee needed, the type of water to use, our favorite cup, how much to pour, where and how fast to drink it. There is magic in that small daily act of drinking coffee at home, which is why most of us do it every day of our lives.

I enjoy a cup of coffee outdoors when I visit a coffee shop in the city. Of course, seeing the scenery and enjoying the weather with a cup of coffee is very pleasant and something I try to do whenever I can. However, having my first cup of coffee indoors is one of my favorite things to do. Particularly, I am one of those who takes the first cup of coffee inside the house, as for the second and third cup, I do like it to be in another environment, preferably in a nice coffee shop that serves good coffee ๐Ÿ˜Š.

I live in a small apartment, I don't have a balcony or garden, so the first cup of coffee of my day I consume in the quiet of my room. I try to wake up a few minutes before the formal start of my day, to enjoy a little moment to myself uniting two things I love: coffee and reading. This hot beverage is so comforting first thing in the morning that I usually consume it very quickly, and then I have to get out of bed to pour myself another cup of coffee. I don't drink it lying down, because I feel it would make me sleepy again, I just lean back and enjoy a few last minutes of comfort, tranquility and a little bit of laziness, why not? before I wake up completely to start my day. As for reading, I take this moment to fast forward a few pages otherwise I would just be wasting time on my phone and that's too easy to do for the rest of the day ๐Ÿ˜…

I think that starting my morning this way is a kind way to wake up, doing things that I like, that make me happy, and that connect me and fill me with energy to accomplish my day's activities, projects and goals. This coffee routine in my room takes me no more than 15 minutes, and is something I do most of my days. In the future, when I live in a bigger house I would like to alternate this routine to have my first coffee of the day sometimes in the comfort of my bed and other times in the quiet of a balcony or garden.

This is my entry for #SPILLTHEBEANS #47.
