Rita started becoming a bit worried about where Susan could have gone to. She checked the kitchen but she saw Evan, a member of ASEC; she asked him if he had seen Susan and he told her she was outside checking the compound out. When she finally saw Susan, she informed her that Mike wants to talk to the both of them about their accommodation. The both of them went back inside to meet with Mike who was already watching TV.

Mike reduced the volume of the TV as soon as he saw that the both of them were sitted waiting for him to talk.
Mike: ok guys, like I said earlier, this discussion is about your accommodation and I won't beat around the bush on it. I'm sorry to inform you that the accommodation in Lome is filled up and we have to transfer you to Kara (which is the second largest city in Togo)
Both girls were quiet for a while. Susan was thinking in her mind "oh God, what's all these. I was even saying Lome (the country's capital) doesn't look lively to me, what fun would there be in Kara?". After a while, Rita spoke
Rita: OK, no problem Mike, we'll go. How many hours is Kara from Lome? And when would you want us to relocate?
Mike: Kara is 8 hours away from Lome. Your internship starts next week, so you'll be expected at Kara before next week.
Rita: OK, thank you.
Susan didn't say anything, she just kept thinking of how dry Kara might be. Both girls remained in the sitting room for a while and excused themselves afterwards to talk about the relocation privately.
Susan: I don't like this idea of relocating to Kara.
Rita: me too, but as it is now, we just have to relocate.
Susan. (still feeling sad) so when do you suggest we leave?
Rita: what do you think about tomorrow (Thursday), since there's nothing we are doing here presently.
Susan: OK, no problem.

The journey to Kara lasted for about 8 hours like Mike had said. They got to Kara around 5pm and were welcomed by Bob, the president of ASEC in Kara. He took them to where they were to stay permanently during their internship. The route to the residence was very bushy and both girls could not help but express their displeasure on their faces when Bob wasn't looking.
The house was an old house with wooden windows and doors. It was surrounded with little bushes and it had no fence nor gate. Bob directed them to the room they'll be staying and told them that his room is just the next room to theirs. He also told them that his friend Suleiman stays in last room which is the third room. The girls went into their room to drop their bags before making plans to freshen up and eat. As soon as they got into the room, Susan started grumbling and complaining bitterly.

Susan: Rita, what's all these? Me I can't stay here ooo. See the window, no net, no burglary, something can just crawl into this room and bite us. Look at the door, if I kick this door now, won't it fall? Look at the bed, how do they expect the both of us to sleep comfortably on this small bed? Me I can't stay here ooo. When they know they don't have conducive accommodation for people, why will they ask them to come?
Rita: bring your voice down and calm down. We'll tell Bob we can't stay here because we don't feel safe; but we'll do that when you're a bit calm.
Susan: OK, I'm calm.
Rita: (giggles) no you're not. Let's manage to sleep here tonight and talk to him about it tomorrow.
Susan: What if something crawls into this room over the night and bites us before tomorrow morning. Let's tell him now, so that he'll take us to another place this evening if there's still somewhere else.
Rita: nothing like that is going to happen.
Susan: OK, sleep here then, me, I'm going to meet him now and tell him I can't stay here.
Rita: Susan, Susan, wait.
Susan went out of the room to meet Bob in his room. She knocked his door and he answered immediately. He opened the door and Susan started talking almost immediately.
Susan: Bob, thank you so much for your warm reception, we appreciate it but you see, we feel unsafe in this environment and we don't think we can pass the night here talkless of staying here permanently for our internship. Please, if you have another place that looks a bit conducive, we'll appreciate it if you take us there since it's not yet dark.
Bob: you guys would have to manage this place because this is the only accommodation left.
Susan: (already becoming angry) how do you expect us to stay in this bush for two months?
Bob: which bush? Am I not living here too?
Susan: you're a man, you cannot compare yourself to us.
Susan's voice was already getting high, so Rita and Suleiman (Bob's friend) had to come out of their room to interfere.
Rita: Susan, calm down. Bob, to be honest, we cannot stay here. Look at the room and the environment, there is no form of security here. Please, we are begging you, help us to look for somewhere else to stay.
Bob: I'm sorry, there's nothing I can do like I said earlier. You guys would just have to manage. I've been staying here for over 4 years and nothing has happened to me
Susan: ki leleyi n so? - what is this one saying?
Bob: if you like insult me, this is where you will stay.
Both girls left his presence angrily. Suleiman tried to calm them down but they didn't even notice anyone was talking to them.
