I started reading a book last year.
“The 15 invaluable laws of growth “. This book seems to have everything and hits the nail on the head. However, I have not had enough time to get it done with. So I thought of way of committing myself to reading it consistently over a period of time. I’ve decided to tell others about what I read and what I’ve learnt in each chapter of the book. I know one of the ways of retaining knowledge is by sharing it with others. So I intend to write a review on each chapter of the book and put it here for others to read since this is a self improvement community.

I’m one that finds difficulty in maintaining discipline especially with things I’m trying to achieve for my self. I know I’m not the only one with this problem and I’m just lucky to have come across this book.

As a way on maintaining or building on this discipline, I want to start this exercise and I’m not keeping it to myself because I would most definitely break the rule since it’s just to myself. But putting it out here, I will feel it’s a responsibility to continue to make updates on the book for the benefit of those tagging along.

About the book

Are there actually tried and true principles that are always certain to help a person grow? John Maxwell says the answer is yes. He has been passionate about personal development for over 50 years, and in the 15 Invaluable Laws of Growth, he teaches everything he has gleaned about what it takes to reach our potential. In his trademark style, Maxwell covers:
The Law of the Mirror: You Must See Value in Yourself to Add Value to Yourself
The Law of Awareness: You Must Know Yourself to Grow Yourself
The Law of Modeling: It's Hard to Improve When You Have No One But Yourself to Follow
The Law of the Rubber Band: Growth Stops When You Lose the Tension Between Where You are and Where You Could Be
The Law of Contribution: Developing Yourself Enables You to Develop Others

This book breaks down the fundamental laws to build yourself and produce better results. It asks you questions that you need to sit back and think deeply about. It lifts your spirit and motivates you in all the right ways.

I do hope that when I’m done with this book, this thing of lack of self discipline will be a thing of the past. Best of luck to myself and everyone else on this journey with me 🫶🏽.
