Here are a few scenes from walks this week for #wednesdaywalk by 
After walking to the train quickly to catch it. It was delayed due to high winds.
We got stuck for a good hour on the tracks and you could really see the ominous storm above. Fortunately our suburbs didn't get hit but a more northern one had a microburst that flattened a building and tore up trees.
The next day we went walking in an obscure forest preserve and found these guys.
I think they are milkweed bugs, a good herald for fall as they show up right when the milkweed is about to let loose their silky seeds.
Just an early morning moon shot on my way to the train station.
A strange fish character at a wildlife center we took our daughter on a walk to.
Red Admirals are always good posers it even landed on my daughter. They are quite friendly butterflies.
Now stuck behind the train again. I have to walk a mile down the road to an underpass to walk across to the other side. If they catch you trying to climb between the trains you get fined at least $800.
At least the underpass is interesting looking and it sheltered me from the rain a bit as I rushed back home a mile away.
The morning rush. A train broke down and we all loaded onto one train and it was swarmed coming in off the station.
A snowy owl at a bird sanctuary. Another destination for my daughter to learn about raptors over the weekend.
They also had nature displays. They used to have a beaver swimming around in here but now its just a stuffed one. Maybe they can bring in a muskrat soon instead.
They did have live turtles here. They looked bored as always. I was tempted to catch a grasshopper outside then throw it in to them to see if they would attack it.
Now its out into the forest preserve to look for mushrooms. My daughter found a nice stick hut and played in there quite a while.
