Hello everyone in the community!

Today is a walking day and that gives a new dimension to any trip that is consciously undertaken, since we routinely pass through places that have even been of great importance in our lives. For example, today I have decided to take a look around with a slightly more scrutinizing view of what back in the seventies and eighties of the last century, was the Alamar of San Luis, Pinar del Río: the Reparto Conrado Benites.

The experience of the very famous Reparto Alamar in the east of the capital of all Cubans was spreading throughout the entire width of the island and throughout it.

Here, in this conglomerate of buildings, several architectural variants of the rationalist style were combined, all as a consequence of the cubist trend in modern art. Small buildings called Sandino-type biplanes and large panels. Seven of the five floors created a different environment on the periphery of the historic center of the main town.

I lived here practically all of my adolescence and part of my youth. Eleven years of a privileged stage, although it cannot be denied that there were also pains and limits of growth.

Today I stopped by early to visit part of my family who still remains in the place. One of the few founders left in the area, which of course differs greatly from that model cast where a single social worker kept the disorder at bay. I remember that, for a towel hanging on a blind, we got our respective fine.

Today, too, after savoring the exquisite coffee that my niece had reserved for me for the occasion, standing on the balcony and with a hit of light from the morning sun, which here, as everywhere, rises from the east, I began to compare both times: the beauty of one time and a shiny project and the deterioration, and the neglect of the other side.

Simply, every time has its thing, and memories are memories, and reality is that same: reality.
