Here's a few slime molds I found for this #mushroommonday by balticbadger@balticbadger

This is rasperry slime mold. This clump is at its full maturity and it has successfully attracted a millipede. I suspect insects feed off this slime mold and drag it around spreading the mold more.

Here is a batch of raspberry slime mold that is just starting out. You can see how it forms little bulbs that eventually bloat up into a larger mass.

I usually find this growing on really dead wood. After a summer rain you can see patches of this growing everywhere. The bright color is easy to pick out from the dark forest floor.

Here is a similar slime mold. I don't know its exact name but it is like a white version of dog vomit slime mold... eventually this slime will cover the whole side of the log with no wood showing through.

Here is another smaller batch. You can see tiny beetles feeding off of it. They probably help spread this stuff to other deadwood.

There was also alot of white jelly roll growing everywhere.

Too bad this stuff isn't tasty, there was tons of it everywhere. Technically it is edible but the texture is brittle and it has no taste so there's no point in eating it. I have read that other edible fungi feed off of this so maybe it can be used to grow turkeytail...

Happy #mushroommonday
