It's time for another #mushroommonday
My daughter spotted some tiny little mycena growing on the base of a tree.
I found even smaller ones, maybe these are so small they might be twig mushrooms.
Now for some actual pleated twig mushrooms. These are all over the place growing off of fallen leaves and tiny twigs.
Now for some medium sized LBMs. I don't think I've ever seen such velvety ones like this before.
Not a symmetrical cap but nice radial gills that stop at the stem without a ring. LBMs still remain a great mystery.
Now for something a bit rare around here. I thought it might be the start of a helvella mushroom but it kind of lacks the stem so it is more likely Ductifera pululahuana. Technically edible but completely tasteless.
These are some strange looking mica caps that look like they got stretched tall and skinny. I suspect they are yet another type of ink cap that grows in the hot summer rains.
More soon we just found some huge molybdites on an evening walk that were as big as dinner plates. Sadly those are poisonous but still fun to find such huge ones.
