Fall is starting for #featheredfriday
This little guy was hanging out in a tree sneakily above my head. I'm not sure if it is a warbler or perhaps even a warbling vireo?
Try as I might I could not get a side view shot of this guy bouncing around everywhere. I was hoping to see a wing pattern for identification.
In a tree nearby I thought I saw a downy woodpecker. But now that I look at the blocky white patterns on wings I think it is a hairy woodpecker.
As usual the starlings are out everywhere. Not quite enough gather in the suburbs to see them do a murmur in the sky.
I felt something looking at me and I looked in the bushes and saw this small deer. I think during the day they just kind of stand in the thick bushes like this then come out in the evening for better grazing.
There is always a house sparrow posing for a shot.
Robins are always posing for shots too, I think this one might have a mite problem with the weird molting going on around its neck and head.
Now for a random infestation of milkweed bugs and aphids. Some of the bugs are already adults and those little orange aphids will become annoying gnats in a few weeks.
I managed to get a shot of the tiny pie billed grebe on the lake. Then it dove down and I couldn't see where it emerged again.
Many of the walnuts and acorns have fallen and the squirrels are busy hoarding them for winter. Lots of fights are breaking out and they have competition from the ducks and Canadian geese too.
