It is insane to think I am about to hit a post everyday for 100 consecutive days with this one today! Absolute madness is what it is!

Last November when I decided to challenge myself to see if I could do a post everyday for a month, that seemed like a mountain to climb. And then 3 days into the challenge I faltered , missed posting for a day or two. Back then I didn't know to get the "Monthly Author" badge you'd have to post every day according to the calendar. I thought simply posting everyday for 30 consecutive days would be enough. And when after posting for 27 days straight I found out it's not happening, I was quite disappointed. It was not the end of the world of course, but I just didn't feel like I was up for another month of posting daily.

And yet, 100 days later - here we are. Sometimes I feel we judge others ourselves too quickly. We're too quick to dismiss our own potentials by the phrases "I can't Do it," or "That's not my cup of tea," and things like that. I got myself out of that mindset and challenged myself again - let's go once more. And by the time I had posted for 31 days straight in December it had become like an addiction.

Well, not an addiction really - it's hard to explain. Writing started to come very naturally to me. It started taking less and less time to finish and polish my posts. Some days I even got around to writing two posts a day and schedule one for later. And I managed to do all these while I finished reading the entire series of Harry Potter books - 7 books! That helped I think. I felt reading enhances and broadens our minds and somehow words just fall into place once your fingers start moving over the keyboard, you know what I mean..? There were even times I felt I wasn't really doing much thinking to progress a post, it just kept automatically writing itself. I know that sounds ridiculous, and believe me it is. But why should that mean it's not true eh!

zayedsakib@zayedsakib asked me to use this in a post, I've been saving it for a milestone post like this one

It all comes down to eventually truly challenging yourself - not to show the world, not to show anyone else, but to show to yourself that it is possible.

While I did manage to achieve this feat, the biggest impact it had on my on-chain activities lay somewhere else - somewhere more important. Engagement.

As you see above, from October 21st 2022, I have made at least one comment a day, EVERYDAY. On a vast majority of these day, it was above the minimum. On a lot of the days the number hovered near 10 comments per day. The average was not bad, but I can definitely improve on that now that I am targeting to spread my reach further as I try slowly creep myself up to a decent and meaningful HP.

Note to new users - Engagement on the chain is absolutely key, and talking with as many new people as we can is always going to be key if you wanna do well here.

And this has reflected well on me receiving replies too. Except for just 2 days since October 21st, 2022, I have received at least one reply per day till today. A few of thos are of course bot comments, but it is still a nice increase and again, I will look to improve my numbers on this front too!

Keeping targets small and reach them before moving to bigger targets can be a good strategy to keep consistent. So with 100 out of the way, next target is get through February first with a post everyday for the remaining half of the month. And then on to 150!

Anyways, here's to a 100 consecutive posts! Next on the list - 150 (maybe..?)!
