Today I drilled holes in another 2x4 for the first set of solar panels.
Then I put the 2x4x10s on top to start getting them situated.
But then I ran into a problem where the bolts holding the solar panels down would be hitting the 2x4x10s. But all I need to do to fix that is to measure where those bolts are going to hit those boards, and use my circular saw to cut out a little notch for them to fit in place. I've also come to the conclusion that I need to buy a taller ladder because I can't reach things in the middle of the shed roof with just the step ladder. And that's even with me standing on the step, on uneven ground, with nobody there to catch me if I fall. So a taller ladder is going to be necessary.
Yesterday I'd also gone and gotten 10 2x4s to start putting up on some u-posts along the back of our property. I'd put those u-posts up like last spring or something. Before my fatigue had gotten so bad. And I wanted to put up the wood fence for privacy from the neighbors.
But for months now I've been wanting to sell this place and get something cheaper. Not necessarily smaller. Just maybe something that needs some TLC and can be bought for less than 50K. And with less neighbors around. Or at least the right kind of neighbors. Like minded neighbors that aren't going to call the water control people on me because they don't understand that LIVESTOCK BELONGS IN THE COUNTRY!!! I just can't understand how people move to the country and then get pissy because there are animals there.
But anyway, I figure one of the easiest ways to throw up a fence quickly and fairly cheaply is to use 2x4s and attach a wire fence to it. Not cattle panels since those cost a bit more and have to be delivered which involves a fee. But 2x4s I can easily transport myself along with rolls of wire fence. Run a couple of strands of electric on the inside will keep them off the fence. Then I'll be able to expand the sheep and goat areas and they'll happily clear out all of the weeds and briers and stuff that have grown up in the runoff.
