Afternoon everyone….
Today was a first for me. In my line of work, you dong normally sign a job or even discuss a potential job over lunch or drinks.
But today was that day for me. A client that I was supposed to meet tonight at their house called me this morning. He said that he was going to be flying out of town tonight for business. He then asked if we could meet up in the afternoon instead.
It is a shop day, so it gave me the freedom to change my day around. I said sure. He then asked me if I could meet him for lunch near his house.
We met there at 1pm to discuss the drawings and contract over lunch. It’s a small local restaurant/bar. I forgot the name it’s The Rest Stop or something like that.
The place had about 25-30 tables on two separate sides, the bar was in the center in between the two seating areas. There was a very small stage in front, for a small band or DJ. It was a very quaint place.
The guy said if you like burgers, they hand grind the meat on site. The house burger is fantastic, it comes with hand cut fries.
Sounded good to me…
He ordered for both of us, as I took out the drawings and contracts. We went over the two designs, he chose one and before I could say anything. He was writing out a deposit check.
SCORE !!!!
It was perfect timing, because once we had completed the contract our food arrived.
He wasn’t kidding when he said the burgers were good. This thing was a monster also. It was a half pound burger, with aged cheddar, sautéed mushroom and onions, thick cut bacon, garlic pickles, lettuce and tomato on a grill toasted bun.
Oh…
And he also ordered these beer battered hand cut onion rings. They were the bomb. The sauce they came with was like the pedal sauce from a blooming onion from the Outback Steakhouse but thicker.
You can start drooling now…
I call this a great day, great food and a signed contract…
