At a certain point in our lives, we begin to see some people who are perfectly fine as idiotic, naive, or ignorant.
The same can be said about morality. We see others as morally undeserving of our standards and values, whereas in some cases, we are even worse.
Intellectually, it gets worse when people are judged by their certifications rather than by the content of their input and output.
Social media is also one of the greatest facilitators of NAIVE REALISM.
We think we know and understand things simply because we have made up a whole lot of assumptions in our heads.
As for religion, let's not even go there. That is where one of the worst forms of NAIVE REALISM is often exhibited.
A man without a beard or jalabiya may be ignored in the masjid, while someone with a beard and jalabiya may be welcomed to lead the ṣalāh ahead of him. Yet, by every genuine measure, the man in jeans and a T-shirt may surpass him in all ramifications.
Ironically, everything I have written here could also pass as NAIVE REALISM.
