Hello everyone!

Hope all are safe and well! ๐Ÿ˜Šโค๐Ÿ™

Another day has passed, and I am still here accompanying my mother in the hospital. Every day brings different experiences, little worries, and moments that remind me how important it is to be patient and thankful, even during difficult times.

Today, I want to share another small part of our hospital journey, especially about my mother's dextrose, her ultrasound, and the moment when she finally got to eat after waiting patiently.

One thing I have noticed while staying beside my mother is how important it is for her to keep her hand in a proper position while the dextrose is connected.

Sometimes, when she unintentionally moves her hand or forgets that the dextrose is attached, blood flows back into the hose. It happened to her several times already. I understand that she cannot always remember to be careful, especially when she is resting or moving naturally.

This is actually the third time that her dextrose has been transferred to another location. This time, it was placed on her right arm because her left hand became swollen again.

When her hand is moved or the position is not right, we sometimes notice blood coming back through the tubing. I have learned that I should not try to adjust the IV myself, so whenever I notice something unusual, it is important to inform the nurses.

After the hand is placed comfortably and the nurses check the line, the blood in the tubing may gradually clear.

Eventually, the hose becomes clear again, and the dextrose can flow normally when the IV line is working properly.

I always check on her hand and remind her to be careful with the line. Of course, I also know that the nurses are there to help us whenever something needs attention.

Early in the morning yesterday, my mother had to prepare for her scheduled ultrasound. She needed to fast before the procedure, which meant she could not eat even though she was already feeling hungry.

I could see that she was patiently waiting for her turn. As someone accompanying her, I also had to remind her that we needed to follow the instructions so the examination could be done properly.

The ultrasound was finally done, and we were told that the result would be available the following day and that is today. However, she still has another scheduled examination, which is her pelvic ultrasound next Thursday, because the requested ultrasound examinations were not yet completed.

After the ultrasound, we returned to her hospital bed. The first thing she told me was that she wanted to eat. She was really hungry after fasting!

The hospital's scheduled food ration had not arrived yet, and she could no longer wait. So I decided to buy some food outside for her.

It made me happy to see her finally enjoying her food after waiting for so long.

After eating, she took her medicine as scheduled.

Then she rested again. I know that taking medicines and going through different examinations can be tiring, so I just let her have enough time to relax.

There are also moments when I need to leave my mother for a while in the hospital. I sometimes go home to get the things we need, prepare or bring some food, and take a bath myself.

Being a watcher in the hospital is also tiring, especially when you need to stay alert and make sure that everything your loved one needs is available. But I do not mind doing these things for my mother. I just want her to feel that someone is always there to look after her.

Later, I also planned to go to the pharmacy to check and claim some of the free medicines included in her prescriptions through the government's free medicine assistance. Unfortunately, not all the medicines are available, and they cannot provide everything written in the prescription. Still, I am very thankful that we can receive some of them for free.

It is already a big help for us because hospital expenses and medicines can add up. Every little assistance makes a difference, and I am grateful that these programs are available to people who need them. ๐Ÿ™

As I continue accompanying my mother, I keep praying for her recovery. We still have another ultrasound examination to complete, and we are waiting for the results of the one she had yesterday. ๐Ÿ™

I pray that my mother will regain her strength soon and that we can finally go home with good news. โค๏ธ๐Ÿ™
