Hello everyone!

Hope all are safe and well! πŸ˜Šβ€πŸ™

Here I am again, sharing another update about my mother's hospital journey. It has been several days since she was admitted, and I am still here accompanying her and watching over her. I am hoping and praying that she will continue to improve so we can finally go home together.

Today, I noticed that my mother's right hand had become swollen, just like what happened to her left hand when the dextrose was first inserted there.

As I mentioned in my previous post, her left hand became swollen while the dextrose was still inserted there, so I requested that it be transferred to her right hand. Thankfully, her left hand has now returned to its normal size. However, seeing her right hand swollen again makes me concerned.

I wondered whether the swelling might be related to the dextrose fluid or the antibiotic being administered through the IV line. Of course, I am not sure what caused it, so I know it is important to let the nurses and doctor assess it rather than simply assume the reason.

When I asked my mother how she felt, she said that her hand was not painful and that she did not feel anything unusual. The swelling was visible on the outside, but she said she was not experiencing discomfort.

Another thing I noticed today is my mother's reaction whenever she takes one of her prescribed medicines.

She has to take this medicine three times a day, and I can see from her facial expression how difficult it is for her. I cannot imagine how unpleasant the taste must be for her to make those faces every time she takes it. 🀭

Even though my mother is not feeling completely well, I am happy whenever I can make her smile.

Despite the hospital stay, the medicines, and the discomfort she has been experiencing, I am glad that I can still make my mother smile.

I know my mother is going through a difficult time, and I wish she did not have to experience all this discomfort. If I could make everything easier for her, I would. But since I cannot take away her illness myself, I will continue doing what I can which is to accompany her, help with her medicines and needs, and make sure the healthcare team knows about any changes I notice.

I also remind myself that I need to be patient. Recovery does not always happen immediately, and there may be more things we need to go through before she can return home.

As I write this post, my mother is already fasting because she is scheduled for an ultrasound tomorrow. She is now sleeping, and this is the time I have to sit down and write a quick update.

I hope that she will have a good rest tonight and that tomorrow's examination will go smoothly. We are hoping that the ultrasound will help the doctor understand her condition better and decide what further care she may need.

Lord, please continue to watch over my mother. Heal her body, ease her discomfort, and help her recover completely. Please guide the doctors and nurses who are taking care of her. I also pray that her ultrasound will go well and that we will receive reassuring news about her condition. πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™

Thank You, Lord, for giving me strength during these tiring days. Thank You for the small improvements, for the moments when my mother can smile, and for allowing me to stay beside her while she needs me. πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™

Have a Blessed Wednesday everyone! πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–
