Dextrose Transferred to My Mother's Right Hand, Some Improvements, and More Days in the Hospital β€οΈπ
Hello everyone!
Hope all are safe and well! πβ€π
Today is another day of staying at the hospital with my mother. As I continue sharing our journey here, I am hoping that each new day will bring more improvements in her condition until she is finally well enough to go home.
It is not easy to see our parents getting sick. We may try to stay strong for them, but deep inside, we also feel worried and tired. Still, I am thankful that I can accompany my mother and be here to assist her with her needs while she receives treatment.
Early this morning, the dextrose that was originally placed in my mother's left hand had to be transferred to her right hand.
The nurse had difficulty finding a suitable vein for the new IV line. It took some time, and I could imagine how uncomfortable the process might have been for my mother. I was hoping the nurse could find a good vein soon so that the procedure would be finished and my mother could rest.
Thankfully, the nurse was finally able to insert the IV into her right hand.
By the way, I immediately requested the nurses to check it and transfer the dextrose to her other hand. Because I noticed that her left hand had become swollen. I was alarmed when I saw it because I was worried that something might be wrong.
After the dextrose was transferred, my mother's antibiotic was administered through the IV line as prescribed.
I am thankful that my mother is showing some improvement during our stay here. I know she still needs treatment and further examinations, but seeing her condition gradually improve gives me hope.
Thanks to the doctors and nurses who are taking good care of her. I am also grateful for the medicines that are helping her as she goes through this difficult time.
In the afternoon, I went to the pharmacy because the doctor had given my mother another prescription. There are medicines that we need to buy outside the hospital, so I went out to get what she needed.
When I returned, I gave the medicine to my mother, and she took it as instructed.
Looking at her facial expression made me think that perhaps the medicine did not taste good. π€ I could not help noticing her reaction! Even in the middle of all the worries, there are still little moments that make me smile.
After my mother took her medicine, I went out to get the result of her blood chemistry test. I left her resting in her hospital bed.
After getting the result, I also paid the fee for her ultrasound, which is scheduled for Thursday.
I then went to the nurses' station to submit the blood chemistry result before returning to my mother.
When I get back, I took a selfie with my mother. I used a filter because both of us were looking tired and exhausted after spending these days in the hospital. π€β€οΈ
I do not know exactly when we will be able to go home. I think we may need to stay for another two days because her treatment and examinations are not yet finished. I just hope that everything will go well and that she will continue improving.
Lord, please continue to heal my mother. Give her strength and comfort, guide her doctors and nurses, and bless the medicines and treatments she receives. Please let her ultrasound and other examinations go well, and may the results help her doctors provide the best care for her. πππ
I pray that we will soon be able to leave the hospital and return home with my mother feeling much better. πβ€οΈ
