Another Day in the Hospital With My Mother and Finally Having Clarity About Her Condition β€οΈπ
Hello everyone!
Hope all are safe and well! πβ€π
Today, my mother underwent urine and stool tests, as well as a blood chemistry test. We already received the results of her urine and stool tests, but we still have to wait until tomorrow for the blood chemistry results.
We are hoping and praying that the remaining results will be okay.
After the doctor reviewed the results of my mother's urine and stool tests, the nurse came to administer antibiotics through her dextrose. There were two small bottles of antibiotics, which looked like smaller versions of the dextrose bottles we usually see in the hospital.
Based on the explanation we received, my mother has a urinary tract infection (UTI), and her stool test showed an amoeba-related infection. This helps explain why the doctor prescribed antibiotics as part of her treatment.
Aside from the antibiotics given through her dextrose, she was also prescribed an antibiotic tablet, which she took after dinner.
I am thankful that the doctors were able to review the initial test results and begin the treatment they considered necessary. Hopefully, the medicines will help her condition improve little by little.
Seeing her receive treatment gives me hope, although I know that we still need to wait and see how her body responds to the medicines. We also need to wait for the blood chemistry results and follow the doctor's instructions regarding her next tests.
By the way, when my mother was admitted yesterday, the doctor gave us a prescription for another medicine to help with her frequent loose and watery bowel movements.
Unfortunately, that particular medicine was not available among the medicines provided by the hospital for free, so I had to buy it outside.
Yesterday, I bought three pieces, and today I bought another three pieces. One piece costs β±70, which means ten pieces would cost β±700.
I also bought Pocari again for my mother. The nurse has also provided her with oral rehydration solution (ORS).
Since my mother has been experiencing frequent loose bowel movements, I am concerned about her losing too much fluid. I am glad that she is being monitored and that the healthcare team is providing the necessary care.
Tomorrow, we will get the results of her blood chemistry test. I am praying that everything will be okay and that the results will help the doctor assess her condition better.
She is also scheduled to undergo an ultrasound on Thursday, so she will need to fast again before the procedure, according to the instructions given to us.
There are still things we need to go through, and we cannot say yet when she will be able to go home. Of course, I hope that everything will turn out well and that she will recover soon.
Lord, please touch my mother's body and help her recover from her illness. Guide the doctors and nurses as they care for her. Give them wisdom in every decision they make, and please let the medicines work well for her.
Please give my mother strength, ease her discomfort, and protect her from further illness. Give our family patience and courage while we wait for her recovery. I pray that the blood chemistry results will be good and that her ultrasound will also bring us reassuring news. ππ
Most of all, Lord, please heal my mother so we can go home together. πβ€οΈ
