Hello beautiful foodies. Pigar Pigar is a trademark menu in our beautiful city of Dagupan, Province of Pangasinan , North of Luzon, Philippines.
Pigar Pigar is a simple and easy dish to make.
Delicious and juicy. We cut the beef or carabeef thinly, marinated with soy sauce (optional) & deep fried and it's ready. In this dish, cabbage and onions are a must, and to complete it with a dipping sauce of vinegar, crushed garlic & chili .
Pigar Pigar in our dialect means to flip or to toss. This dish was name by itself on how we cook it, Pigar Pigar.
Ingredients:
Beef 300 grms.
Onion 3 medium
Cabbage 1/4 of whole
Cooking oil.
Soy sauce for marination 2tbspn ( optional)
Pepper (optional)
Dipping sauce:
Vinegar 2tbspn
Crushed garlic, pepper & chili
Methods:
Heat enough oil to deep fry beef.
Fry beef till soft . Then set aside.
Fry onions, set aside.
Fry cabbage, avoid not to overcook veggies.
Add in fried beef and onion.
Toss well then the pigar Pigar
is ready to eat with rice..
Note:
Traditionally we direct beef to deep fry without marination however you may do so
(marination) to enhance the flavor.
