I like everything home-made, because they’re special, healthier, economical and saves you time. I came up with this baby food recipe a couple of years ago and it’s still a hit with my children until now.

It doesn’t take a lot of time to make it, you can even make batches, store it in a resealable bag and stack them in the freezer for future use. No additives, convenient and health wise.

Ingredients

Chicken, boiled and shredded, ⅓ cup
Grated apple, ¼ cup
Wheat flour
Egg, 1 whole, whisked
breadcrumbs , 1 tbsp plus more for dusting
A pinch of salt and pepper

Instructions

Boiled the chicken for 30 minutes with onion, garlic and a knob of ginger.
Once the meat cooled down, shred the meat and add the Breadcrumbs and grated apple. Mix until well combined.
Season with a pinch of salt and pepper and mix again.
Form into a shape you like and Refrigerate for 1 hour.
Roll the chicken nuggets into the wheat flour on both sides, Then dip next to the egg mixture and lastly, Roll to the Breadcrumbs.
Fry it in a low heat until brown.

Chicken and apple makes a very good combination, Apple brings sweetness to the dish making it appetising for the children’s palate. You can also add other vegetables like carrots or sweet potato. A good way to incorporate other vegetables to toddler’s.
