Concurso Observa, Piensa y Escribe: Mi soñado árbol de confituras Navideñas/ My Dream Christmas Candy Tree. [ESP-ENG]
ENGLISH VERSION
The cookies! Oh my God, from the end of the aisle my eyes shine brighter than all the lights in the supermarket combined when I see that mountain that, in my opinion, looks more like a giant Christmas tree made of sweets.
I can't stop looking at it and thinking how great it would be for me to open wrapper after wrapper and enjoy each little figure with its crunchy and varied flavors, even though they all taste like glory itself, made of candy hahaha.
I know that beyond my dreamy Christmas candy tree, there is also a fervent longing born inside me for the holidays to finally arrive—those days so desired and awaited by everyone, when the lights show off their best, embellishing cities and corners of homes with their multiple colors.
Oh, my city! Without blackouts, you would shine like disco lights—blinking and luxurious, colorful and full of life. But nothing can discourage me; I know my beloved Christmas will come.
And even though the lack of electricity sometimes takes away our physical sparkle, the spark of Christmas will always shine brightly in our hearts, because the true light doesn't come from a plug, but from family unity.
I want to eat sweets, of course. But I want even more to celebrate with my family, to celebrate in church, to celebrate everywhere because Christ was born—that is what we celebrate at Christmas.
I can already see the dances, the beautiful songs everywhere, carols, lots of shiny decorations. It is my favorite time of the year; I simply love how everything looks and how we have fun, as well as the warmth that emanates from those celebrations.
We will return to smiles, to colored lights, to the long-awaited family parties and friendly gatherings. I will see those sweets again and experience the exquisite moment of having them at my mercy. Will it be that one day, opening my eyes on Christmas, my little tree will be like that enormous candy tree? I would have to share them hahaha, but that would be even better.
