Hi Steem friends,
For my entry into today's foodphotography challenge, I'm sharing a photo that I took earlier this weekend of some pasta salad that my girlfriend and I made. It has been a little while since we've made our own pasta salad, but we decided last week while grocery shopping that we would like to have some. Using this particular recipe, we ended up with a very creamy and tangy pasta salad that I must admit was very delicious. I realize that my from my photo, it's a bit difficult to tell exactly what ingredients were used - you can thank the thick sauce that we used for that!
The first thing that we did was chop/slice up some vegetables such as red peppers, green peppers, tomatoes, celery, and pickles into small pieces. Then, separately from that, we boiled up a pot of water in which we cooked some elbow macaroni. Usually I would prefer a different shape of pasta - one with more twists and turns would provide a larger surface area for the sauce to stick to, but the elbow macaroni was on for a big discount, so we opted for that instead. Then to make the sauce for this pasta salad, we used some mayonnaise, lemon juice, pickle juice, a touch of vinegar, and some salt and pepper. I find that the vinegar and the pickle juice really provide a nice tangy punch, which I personally really enjoy in a pasta salad. After combining everything together and stirring it generously, we let it chill for a little while in the refrigerator before serving it in these small portion-sized bowls!
