Happy Easter Weekend 2024
It’s the Thursday before Good Friday and I have just installed Ecency on an old Apple iPhone XR. My friend is trying to get me to convert over to be exclusively Apple, but I am not really 100% convinced it’s the better option.
He gave the phone to me along with an Apple Watch series 2, although it’s still paired to his older phone, so I’ll have to get him to unlock it.
I’d already bought an Apple Watch series 7from a second hand store months earlier, but I needed an iPhone to pair it with. They are up to series 9 now.
The Apple iPhone XR has a much better camera than my old potato quality phone, and in that sense I’m much better off. It also means I can listen to podcasts through the Bluetooth in my hearing aids without having to go back and forth and adjust my iPad when I leave the room.
Right now I’m watching Resident Alien, a comedy show based on the comic book series of the same name.
I’ve already caught up on X-men ‘97 and Bad Batch and started watching the scifi epic drama 3 Body Problem.
I need to catch up on Invincible too.
Thankfully the episodes are slow to release so I can binge them all at once.
I have plans for the weekend, but I am worried that I will sabotage them by listing them, feeling overwhelmed, procrastinating and then not doing them.
But here goes:
It’s been too long since my last podcast episode, so that will need an update.
General tidy up of my unit, discarding everything that is no longer necessary, and sorting out what can be sold for cash.
Read a lot more of the finance book I am halfway through.
Catch up on the comic books I have been neglecting.
Start and complete my own comic book script. I already have a rough idea for the story and know how to present it so that an artist can create it.
Write a list of phone calls that need to be made after the holiday is over.
That’s it largely.
It’s enough, and it’s amazing what can be achieved in a long weekend. The only set back is my own mind, self doubt, distractions and the need to eat, sleep and shower.
Most of these are dopamine based tasks, so they should not only be fun but easy to do.
I’ll let you know how far I get.
I know myself well enough to not have any real plans or structure to anything and just go with what works the best at the time otherwise I freeze up and nothing at all gets done.
I achieve a lot more, faster, if I tune out the internal monologue for for as long as possible.
Podcasts help a lot in this regard.
That’s all for today.
Thanks for reading.
Until next time...
Happy Easter!
