Barramundi Burrito by Guzman Y Gomez
Barramundi Burrito - Guzman Y Gomez
A bright orange flash caught the corner of my eye. I turned my head to discover the source, just in time to see another bright orange wall of flame shoot shoot straight up approximately 5ft from a stove, and a chef jossling a cooking pan, backwards and forwards.
"The barra's done!" said the chef referring to the pan seared barramundi about to be placed into the burrito I ordered roughly 5 minutes earlier.
The pan seered barramundi burrito is a tasty Australian alternative to the usual beef or chicken offering and barramundi is a fish found mainly in the Northern Territory.
I only had to sit for another minute or before my name was called and I could pay for and enjoy my meal.
I'd also decided to make it a meal with a cup of chips and a bottle of Coke No Sugar.
The hot chips have a salty flavouring that I really like the taste of, but I can't quite place. I'm sure someone has leaked the recipe on the internet somewhere.
Every burrito contains rice, beans, tomato, lettuce and the meat filling of choice, like chicken, ground beef, pulled beef, and barramundi. There are vegetarian options too.
You can choose between mild or spicy, even with the option to add a range of far hotter spices, sauces and peppers for those who love the roof of their mouths burnt.
That's not something I am interested in though. Chuckle.
There's a choice of sour cream or guacamole, or both as well.
The meal itself is quite filling for what it is, but it can be slightly expensive depending on what you get, but if you're looking for a healthier alternative to fast food while you're on the road, why not give them a try?
On Tuesdays they also have cheap crunchy tacos as well.
They are amazing!
I always love trying new foods, especially from different cultures. In this case, the Mexican culture has come to me.
That's all from me today, until next time
see you in the kitchen!
