This was one of the happiest days in my life because I narrowly avoided a greater tragedy than what happened to me.
This event happened 13 years ago when I was working on the ramp that was placed before the entrance to the Olympia hotel in Vodice, my place where I live and work, now I am no longer in that position.
It happened that when leaving, the vehicle pulling the boat on the trailer pinched the man who was between the house and the boat.
I was in the house at the time and when the gentleman was being squeezed, pressure was created that broke out small and large glass, of which the large one fell on my head when I stepped back and at that moment I didn't even feel that I was bleeding and that I had a large bump on the head from adrenaline.
The gentleman suffered 5 broken ribs and a cracked knee which was my fault because I dragged him inside to save him from further injury and possibly death so his legs stayed outside because they didn't fit in the house from the parts that fell inside.
People who saw all this stopped the vehicle that was crushing the gentleman and ran to help me and the victim.
The emergency services came very quickly and took the gentleman but also me because I could not stand on my feet.
Later, after a head scan in the hospital, I was diagnosed with a severe concussion and a hematoma.
After three weeks of recovery, the doctor referred me to a neuropsychiatrist for PTSD because I had experienced trauma.
I was on some kind of sleeping pills for almost half a year because I couldn't sleep at night, so I needed help with that.
Of course, I also went to therapy twice a week so that the doctor could see if my condition was improving, and thank God everything got better, and then she started to stop my medication a little.Later, when I returned to work, I got a new position, which was a security guard in a hotel, and that was great for me because I was among people, which I love.
I hope that one day I will be able to forget everything, but even though a lot of time has passed, I still remember it like it was yesterday.
All the pictures were taken by my friend and sent to me after a couple of days when I was in the hospital.
