This was a typical day. The older son had just started school and the younger one was in kindergarten, and we had time any day of the week to go somewhere on a trip.
This time it was in a place called Jadrija and it is only 9 kilometers from the house where we live.
The day was cloudy and it was a bit windy, I remember it like now, even though it's been 6 years.
This place is known as a small Tutist place, quiet and mostly for older people, and there are a lot of cottages that stand empty all year until summer.
What is most interesting are the wooden doors that have been there for decades and are renewed every year and are looked after because they are like a form of heritage of the place.
Most of the houses now have beds, so people can sleep by the sea in the summer and enjoy the sound of the sea as it hits the shore.
And one part is used by local residents as from long ago and there they keep their belongings, fishing equipment, sunbeds and umbrellas for the beach and the like, while I heard that some people know how to rent theirs to couples in love for one night to enjoy and have their intimacy with only the sea and a view of the stars and islands for a pretty good amount of money.
I like to go there mostly in the middle of spring and in autumn when the days are nice and we enjoy it.
I make coffee and put it in a thermos bottle, and I take the children to drink juice and water and some kind of snacks, so we are there for half a day, mostly a nice break from the hustle and bustle and cars because they are not around.
This place is about 8 kilometers from the larger town of Sibenik, and some residents go by boat and a smaller part by car or bus.
Basically, the whole place is quite quiet and seems to have remained in the past, when there was no internet or mobile phones.
Basically, if you want peace, quiet, rest and fun with your family, then this is the right place to visit.
