Yesterday, I was free from my night shift, so this morning I went for a walk on the beach to get some fresh sea air. On my way, I passed by the hotel where I worked for almost 14 years in private hotel security because I have a black belt in karate, 2nd Dan, and I trained in Krav Maga for 7 months.
I only worked night shifts, just as I do now at another job for a different private hotel because the conditions are better and the pay is higher. I guard the hotel's surroundings and the camp that is part of the hotel.
Working at the previous hotel for all those years brought me many acquaintances with people from all parts of the world, from British entrepreneurs to the most famous football referee in the world, Pier Luigi Collina. Now, they are all just memories, and it's nice to look at them on my phone and remember them from time to time.
I am a big football fan, so meeting Pier Luigi Collina was my favorite encounter because I remember him from when I was a child. Today, we were all in various cafes, watching the Croatian national team play against Turkey, which did not end as we had imagined, so I was a bit sad. However, my best man was there with me to cheer me up. He is like a brother to me, always ready to help and talk at any time of the day or night.
I hope that when Croatia plays against Italy on Monday, they will achieve a favorable result and advance to the round of 16 because football is very important here, just as it is in the rest of the world. I hope you also support your national teams and that they perform well.
May the best team win.
