Friends, Happy Thursday everyone.

Today is also like yesterday, that is, today's environment is exactly like yesterday, not too hot and not too cold. Today I will share with you another one of my favorite recipes, a vegan recipe of course.

Potato is called the king of all vegetables in our region, because potato can be mixed with any vegetable and is very tasty to eat. For this reason everyone likes potato and also calls potato as king. It is true that potatoes have quality as well as taste. Potatoes are the first choice of people of all ages. Besides, various types of potato recipes are the focus of everyone's interest.

Today I will share a recipe of similar interest, it is popularly known as 'Alur Dum' in our region, a very popular item. This recipe is especially made when new potatoes are harvested. This recipe can be prepared perfectly with new but small potatoes. Due to its small size, it boils quickly and is easy to eat.

But today I made it a little differently. I made tamarind flavored 'Alur Dum' today. Although everyone prefers to eat it with hot sauce, but I find it tastier when made with tamarind. Hope you will like today's delicious recipe.

The recipe requires ingredients-

  • Potatoes 500 grams
  • Tamarind 10 grams
  • Sugar 1 teaspoon
  • Salt 1 teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder 1 teaspoon
  • Chilli powder 1 teaspoon
  • Coriander powder 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin powder 1 teaspoon
  • Ginger garlic paste 1 teaspoon
  • Onion 1
  • 4 green chillies
  • 2 tomatoes
  • Coriander leaves 5 grams
  • Oil 3 teaspoons
  • Water like quantity.

Preparation phase-

First I cleaned and washed the potatoes, then fried them in oil with a little turmeric powder, chili powder and salt.

Then in that pan I lightly fried chopped onions, then tomato slices and all the spices along with ginger garlic paste.

Then I mixed the spices with light water, then added tamarind, then cooked for some time with sugar and salt.

Then I added fried potatoes, mixed them with spices and then added enough water.

Then I add green chillies and coriander leaves, then cook it like this for some time, when the water dries up, take it out to serve.

Take a look before serving, this is a popular item of our region this time, that is our familiar dish 'Alur Dum'. We prefer to eat it with luchi or hot rice. It can also be eaten alone.

All are my original photographs.

Thanks all.
