So...
We moved to a small city about an hour away from Austin. It's called Temple, TX. And to me it was like Austin, way back in the 90's. Still super hood. But they had no problem renting to a felon.
We did a test run with my brother before we actually moved though, just to make sure. He had just gotten out of prison and had hooked up with a crazy girl from Corpus Christi, and they were having problems. He had come to me and was doing so bad, that he was willing to do anything to make a way.
He asked if I had a gun.
It would have been easy to give him one and just get him out of my hair, but the good side of me said, "Look man, you got all this money and if you give him a gun and send him on his way, you ain't shit."
So I told him about Temple, and asked if I were to pay for it would he go there and see if they would rent to him. Cuz if he made it, being super fresh out of prison then I figured we were golden. I know , kind of still in it for me huh? But it was what it was.
He agreed and went.
They rented to him the same day no problem.
So my wife and I rode there like a day or two later, while the kids were in school, and wham bam we were in like Flynn.
No more stressing, having to find a place that would work with a man with a record. Temple didn't give a shit. They wanted the money.
Now the house my brother got was in the ghetto. But the one we found was on the new side of Temple, and it was the best house we had EVER stayed in. It was brand new and compared to Austin, CHEAP!
But I had walked away from the hustle, remember?
But I had money stashed too.
So begins the downfall.
My wife's parents still lived in Austin so on the weekends in the beginning we would go back, making the hour drive down IH-35 in the morning in order to beat Austin's hellacious traffic, and drop the kids off.
The connects I had still loved me and I still had weed. All the weed I wanted, as a matter of fact. So we would drop the kids and get a cheap motel room close to the area where most of my customers lived.
From there, it was grind all day and by that night, we had at least 1000 dollars. But motel hustling isn't very safe so we would never stay two days in a row. The next morning we were out.
We did that for a few months.
But then it started to get old, and I guess I started to get lazy. Plus, living in the new neighborhood, we felt like we were sticking out. And smoking weed all day through the week in the mean-time wasn't helping out very much.
Well toward the end of that chapter, we were coming back from Austin with a little over a pound of that stinky shit in the trunk and got pulled over by a state trooper....So bullshit if you ask me, but
