Hello everyone! 🍻

How have you been doing lately? Is anyone going to Hive Fest 2023 in Rosarito, Mexico? Unfortunately, I can't make it. I'm still tied to my job and I can't afford something like that in September. But I would like to. That's life.
I will watch the broadcast of the event if there is one.

Summer is coming to an end, autumn is approaching and I hope that all the natural disasters are over and that we will sail on peacefully.

And of course, it won't be without beer. For today's 322nd #beertasting I have two cans, very interesting, like night and day, one German and one American. Considering that lately I've been drinking beer only for beertasting (don't ask me why), I can't wait to taste them.

Klosterbräu Bamberger Rauchbier

Brewed by Klosterbräu Bamberg, Bamberg, Bavaria, Germany.
Can, 0.5 l, alcohol 5.3%, IBU 30. It's Rauchbeer or Bamberg Smoked Beer style, dark brown malty German lager with a characteristic of beech smoke.

What do the master brewers say?

Genuine Bamberg brewing culture. Shimmering deep black and with a beige-colored, imposing foam, this quintessentially Franconian Bamberg cult beer is convincing in its appearance. A distinct odor of smoke, which is concise in the nose and behind it a balanced, fruity hop note from the finest Hallertau aroma hops, can be detected. The smoky flavor comes from the use of beech wood during the drying of the malt. On the palate, the velvety flavors of licorice, smoked ham, dark chocolate, and toasty caramel nuances lovingly come together. A real specialty for connoisseurs and lovers of this original type of beer.

Well, that will be interesting. I got it at the Kalea Beer Box in the Hofer store. As far as I can remember I have never tried a smoked beer before.

The beer is dark, almost black in color, the head is solid and creamy. It does not have a particular smell, well maybe a very slight smoky smell. It goes down the throat very smoothly, and in the mouth, I first taste the smoke, really, as they wrote, smoky bacon, which increases, maybe some prunes, and a trace of bitterness which increases and dominates the aftertaste while everything else slowly disappears.
The bitterness remains in the mouth for quite a while.

This particular beer is known for being either loved or hated by those who try it. When I first tried it, I was surprised to discover that it actually had a smoky bacon aroma. While it isn't bad, it's not something I could drink in large quantities. I believe it would pair well with bold flavors, and I personally would keep it in the fridge as a sample to enjoy with some roasted or smoked ribs.

Samuel Adams Wicked Hazy IPA

Brewed by Boston Beer Company, Boston, Massachusetts, United States.
Can, 1 UK pint (0.568 l), alcohol 6.3% ABV, IBU 35. It's a Hazy IPA or Juicy IPA or NEIPA style, which means intense fruit flavors, less bitterness than classic IPA and smooth mouthfeel.

What do the master brewers say?

Super-juiced with haze for days. How about a rush of pineapple over here? How about a one-two punch of mango and peach over there? Wicked Hazy is a little bit extra - a blast of tropical fruit, with a smooth, silky finish. It’s like a beautiful swirling magic-eye for your mouth, if that makes sense. Drink up, it will soon.

I got it two days ago when a friend of mine who works in the USA came to see me and brought it to me, among other things. Nice of him.
Well, after smoked bacon I really need something fruity now :)

The beer is cloudy yellow in color, the head is average and slowly disappears. It smells very fruity. A sip goes smoothly down the throat, and on the palate, I taste the bitterness of the hops which dominates and a lot of tropical fruit. Pineapple, grapefruit, mango and citrus.
The bitterness of the hops and grapefruit lingers in the aftertaste for quite some time.

Very juicy and refreshing. The bitterness is predominant but not so much as to be distracting and the fruit aromas are very clear. I have no complaints. Everything is up to standard, as it should be.
If I could buy it anywhere around here I would certainly have a few of these cans in the fridge. Maybe I will get some more in the future. Let's be surprised :)
