Hello beer lovers! 🍻 😎 🍻

What's up? It has been very sunny and hot here for two days now, and we have finally, albeit late, planted the potatoes (usually in April, but the soil was too wet). Soon it will be the turn of the rest of the vegetables.

Today I did some cleaning around the field and of course, one gets tired and thirsty :)

But beer is the best for thirst. I have two cans in the fridge, both Polish, and I can't wait to open them.

Trzech Kumpli Wheeler Irish Dry Stout

Brewed by Browar Trzech Kumpli, Tarnow, Poland.
Can, 0.5 l, alcohol 4.1% ABV, 25 IBU. It's a Dry Stout or Irish Stout style, which means that is a black beer with various roasted flavors, sometimes sweeter, sometimes bitter but lower strength than stout.

What do the Master Brewers say?

Wheeler is our Irish dry stout, brewed according to the 'Cork school', so towards a little more fullness and complexity of flavor compared to the world-famous Dublin stout. Expect aromas of roasted barley, chocolate, and solid espresso, plus a pleasant maltiness in the taste, which we tried to keep at a level that only balanced the bitterness and a roastiness.
The name of the beer itself, on the other hand, is our mini-honor to Daniel Wheeler, a Briton who, in 1818, patented an innovative way of drying malt that made it possible to obtain malt in almost any shade - from light to black - and without smoky aroma.
We infused the beer with nitrogen. Pour with momentum, with a strong stream aiming for the bottom of the glass.

I was thinking of having a coffee earlier, but it looks like it won't be necessary.

The beer is black in color, not much head, but creamy. It smells of roasted malt. A sip goes down the throat smoothly, I immediately taste bitterness, the charcoal flavor dominates, and the coffee, if any, is somewhere in the background, I didn't detect any chocolate, maybe bitter cocoa?
The bitterness lingers in the aftertaste for a long time.

I don't know, it gets very high ratings on Ratebeer and Untappd, but it doesn't suit me. Too much bitterness, and not enough other flavors and aromas. More extreme than a balanced beer.

Nook Baltic Pina Colada

Brewed by Browar Nook, Warszawa, Masovian, Poland.
Can, 0.44 l, alcohol 10.0% ABV, 70 IBU.
It's Flavored Imperial Porter style, which means extra-strong dark and malty beer with complex flavors.

What do the Master Brewers say?

A dark and substantial Imperial Baltic Porter with Sabro and HBC 472 hops and the addition of flaked coconut and pineapple pulp. Brewed in collaboration with Michał Sułkowski (Kilka Słów o Piwie blog), a source producer.

The beer is dark brown in color, with a little head, and very creamy. It smells of caramel. The beer goes down the throat smoothly, not only does it smell, but it also tastes of sweet caramel, which is predominant, there is also the bitterness of roasted malt and a taste of molasses or rum in the background, and I can also taste alcohol. Where is the coconut?
In the aftertaste, the sweetness disappears and only the bitterness remains for a while.

The beer is drinkable and tasty, like a kind of dessert. Very flavored. I find it more balanced than the previous one, also more drinkable, but still extreme.
It would go very well with a dessert, like baklava, which is very sweet. I wouldn't recommend it for regular drinking, but I would keep some in the fridge, just in case :)
