Hail to the Hive!

I had to do a supply run today and as we can’t move the boat through the locks right now as they are closed for maintenance I had to walk the few miles between Warwick & Leamington Spa to the supermarket i needed to go to.

A fresh, crisp day with a chill in the air I set off feeling pretty good. It’s quite normal to pass under a lot of bridges on the canal but this particular stretch has alot of variety. Bridges where you pass over train tracks.

Which there are a few.

And aqueducts that you are on that allow the canalboats to pass over roads, train lines etc. All this and lovely scenery within a stonesthrow of two towns.

The walk back wasn’t as fun as I was carrying 10kg bag of coal briquettes for the heating stove and 2 bags or groceries. Hope the lock is open on time on the 30th as its much easier carrying cargo by boat. After all, that’s why they made the canals to begin with!
