Hail to the Hive!
For the past week or so we have been getting a new Engine Installed into Badger the Narrowboat and have been moored at a boatyard that is both residential and also busy lifting boats in and out for work to be done.
I do love a good wander around a boatyard. Always something interesting.
Just behind our boat they have a 50 year old JCB just sitting there. Looks amazing for it鈥檚 age ( a bit like me really 馃槈) and apparently still works, starts up fine and is used on site occasionally.
You can see Badger in the background.
As I was chatting to the boatyard owner about it I couldn鈥檛 help notice it had all the characteristics that would make it a superb #monomad model. So I had her pose for me.
Here鈥檚 a full frontal!
Considering she鈥檚 been left out in all British weather for 50 years she looks pretty damned good, they sure don鈥檛 make em like they used to eh!
It鈥檚 quite a juxtaposition with a working boatyard behind us with big machines and the canal separating us from farmland and countryside on the other side.
.
I like the contrast. The ying and yang, the chalk and cheese, the beauty and the beast.
