Hail to the Hive!
Like many of you I have been watching as much of the World Cup as I can take in. Also like many of you I have been doing this while consuming our favourite cold beverage…
Beer!
Now we recently stayed in a lovely out of the way rustic hotel called Wild Coffee Retreat and the bar, or as it’s known ‘Di Fukin Bar’ was awesome. I of course soent the majority of my time in here, alone unfortunately.
“Why Alone?”
I hear you cry. Well there was only one other room, of the 6 there, occupied as far as I could tell and they didn’t seem to spend much time there and may have only been there a night. I only saw them once.
The owner/manager ‘ Carecea’ was lovely and said “ you’re at home here so just ‘elp yourself at di bar’
“You mean at di fukin bar” I replied and she laughed and said to me it was ok to just help myself while I was here.
Danger Danger!
So of course I did, and I did and I did. And then I did some more🤣
Luckily for me the games have fallen at excellent and quite civilized times for me here in Jamaica. So I have had coffee morning games and then beer afternoon games. Perfect 🤩
But right now it was afternoon Beer game time.
I didn’t really mind being on my own watching the football on my I pad sipping ice cold red stripe as the atmosphere in the tree house style bar was really quite nice.
The bar is a brilliant rustic almost driftwood, ship wreck, Robinson Crusoe meets Bob Marley style. I loved it and regretted that we hadn’t met up with our old friends from the Philippines here instead of at the hotel we were at previously.
There were so many cool little things in the bar that at half time I grabbed another beer and casually wandered around on my own snapping photos without having to feel self conscious about it as there was nobody about. So I could chill, sip beer, take snaps and mooch about.
But as soon as the second half kicked off it was back to the football again…
