Hello, there!
@saydie here, playing Splinterlands everyday!
So, last season was the final season where Modern Format had an open league. Starting this season, Brackets have been implemented on Modern, and as a result, all of the players rating has come into a reset. As of now, I am pairing decently in Bracket VI or the Champion Bracket, though returning to my previous rating might prove more difficult as I lose access to a lot of my cards due to the card caps that were implemented on the Bracket. I also don't know whether this season will be close to being profitable, because the new reward system also makes the SPS to be sent only after the end of the season.
Anyway, let us see how much I earned last season to have a clear comparison for this new season that is now under the Brackets system.
Modern Format Season 104 Splinterlands Report
| League | Total Battles | Wins | Win Rate | Rank | Leaderboard Reward |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Modern Ranked Champion | 482 | 251 | 52.07% | 55- Champion I |
For modern ranked season 104, I did not manage to get on the leaderboards' top 50. But I'm just 160 ratings shy of getting the spot. Still, being ranked 55th has rewarded me with an additional 100k Glint for a total of 482 Battles, of which I won 251 of them. I could play a lot more battles, but I decided to spend that time playing Survival Mode to get the additional 25 Fortune entries for the weekly fortune draws. I ended up not winning any cards, though, so you can say that it's just a waste of time.

With that, I earned a total of 4,848.879 SPS or about $ 19.73, which was mostly from ranked battles. I could have earned more if I had just continued playing more battles towards the end of the season, but I stopped to play Survival mode. I also missed some brawls and tournaments, which resulted in much lower earnings, which I plan to fix this season (as always).

| Fortune Entry |
Since I missed a lot of brawls, that also means that I earned fewer Merits. Last season, I only earned 5,267 Merits from brawls, but because I opened a ton of Chests, I was able to gain another 18,114 Merits for a total of 26,615 Merits.
What's really unfortunate, though, is that even when I even bought Fortune entries in the Glint shop to have more Fortune Entries last season, I did not win any premium cards, and just wasted 50k Glint for nothing. And now, there are only about 4 draws that is remaining before the premium reward card draw concludes, which makes me doubtful whether I still have a chance to win some premium cards.

| Total Glint Earned |
When it comes to Glint, the total Glint that I earned last season was 867,818 Glint by just playing modern ranked and the reward I got from the leaderboard. So far, I have spent my Glint to purchase 1 batch of Major Chest and 20 Epic draws to catch up with my under-leveled Epic and legendary reward cards that I currently can't use because of the card caps from the bracket.

As for my DEC expenses, my total expenses last season were 25,288.807 DEC or about $ 13.21 at the current price, which leaves me with $ 6.54 of earnings. It was quite a low earning, but still it was better than me getting into the negative.
CA Reward and Extra Set Progress
Using the site splinterhub.com, I was able to monitor the progress of my reward cards. And just right before the last season ended, I was able to fully max my common collection, including the cards that I already have their Blackfoil counterparts. Because of that, my focus right now is to collect Common unbinding scrolls so that I can unbind those cards and maybe sell, if not rent them, for some profit. On the other hand, my rare reward collection was still only at 90% completion, so maybe it will take 2-5 seasons before I can max them. Still, they were at a good enough level to play in the Champion Bracket.
That was not really the case for my Epic and Legendary reward collection, so if Brackets were to be implemented next season, I would no longer be able to use them at their current levels, even though some of them are good enough to help me win my battles,
The same goes for my Extra collection, which hasn't really moved much for the last 2-3 seasons. It will be a big loss for me once I can no longer use Rholfa and Shadowcomb Duskrose in my battles, and because upgrading the cards takes too long to accomplish, I may have to rather sell the cards instead of keeping them.
Closing
So yeah, that was how much I earned from the very last season, where we had an open league. This season, I would expect that I will be in the negative altogether, since I have a small card collection which was included in the computation for the SPS rewards, and I still haven't reclaimed my previous rating. Depending on the final output, I may have to move down to Bracket V, just because it turned out it was not profitable for me.
Thank you, and see you on the next post!
