It is sad that the women of older generation are not easily acceptable to change. The present generation is more embracing. I can say that my kids are enjoying better days than I myself had and that is good. I love it when my kids get to learn new technology and enjoy life in a better way, but not mother's of all age group are same.

My mother in law is very different. She hates it that we are enjoying mixers and grinders when she had to grind the masala in a grinding stone. She hates it that we spend a lot on a single dress while at the same amount she could get a dress for her whole family back then. She hates it that I have a phone while she had to only write letters to reach to her parents and patiently wait for their reply. I can see the hate in her eyes.
I and my husband tried explaining to her that time has been changing and while she got to use the LPG, her mother in law had to gather fire wood and cook in the open to feed her family of 15. But, that flies over her head. She believes that we spend a lot and still clothes and other stuffs could be brought at 100 INR. But the irony is that she herself spends nothing less than 2 k on her saree every time she wants to buy one. That sometimes makes me believe that she is unnecessarily picking fights.
Women and definitely make or break a family.
