Good day to all my Steemians! Your friendly neighborhood ghosty here once again!
I recently uncovered a treasure trove of poetry and stories that were believed to be lost to the years a couple days ago and @Sammosk suggested that I bring some of them here for your enjoyment! I could post for days or until you get bored with it. You just let me know!
Today I dug up a couple short pieces that are slightly more dark in nature and a little melancholy. It can't all be sappy love poems, right?

Boldly
Forging forward.
Under judgmental eyes.
Scrutiny in a litany.
A choir of wagging fingers.
Choke on your assessments,
Misguided and misconstrued.
Black and white
And never a touch of grey.
Extremes and opposites.
Contrast.
While others
Are sepia and grainy.
The colors of dirt
From being left in the dust
Of trails being blazed.
Shifting shadows
Out of the corner of my eyes.
Looming and jittering.
Stalking.
Creeping closer
Each time that I hold my breath.
Feeling their whispy claws
Running down my neck.
The shadows of Fears
That spiral in the darkness.
In the absence of
Rational thought.
Hunting me.
Eventually to drag me to the ground
And shred
Away
Every bit of my humanity.
Or at least
What is left.
