More often than not, taking little steps towards your dream is better than waiting for when you will take a giant stride. The little steps that you take, if you sum them up over time, you will discover that they are even bigger than the giant stride you may have been waiting for. The power that is embedded in the seemingly little efforts you make is so much and oftentimes overlooked. Trust me, if you keep going, no matter how little the pace may be, you will surely arrive at you destination.

In life, no matter what happens, do not stop making attempts and do not stop putting efforts towards your goals and your dreams. I remember what a mentor once said; "if you can fly, then fly, but if you cannot, then do not be discouraged, but by all means, try to keep moving, even if it means to crawl." These words made so much meaning because I quickly realized that the only thing separating you from your goal is the steps you have not taken. But the more steps you take, the closer you will become to your goals.

After all, the journey towards the actualization of your dreams will definitely begin with just a step, and more steps will be added in due course. I learnt the power of constant and continuous efforts from a particular experience I once had. A few months back, I discovered that our tank was dropping water from the under the last time we filled it with water. Since there is water in it, it was almost impossible to patch it with the water in it, as it would dissolve the glue. Well, I thought that the drops were very tiny and negligible, however I decided to put a bucket under the tank where the water was dropping from so as to collect the water.

By the next morning, I was so surprised that the tiny drops which were almost negligible had filled the bucket and was already beginning to pour out. This opened my eyes to the fact that the little efforts that people may often neglect might hold a very important effect over time. When you understand this, you will not take any opportunity to take actions lightly. Remember when the first man in moon, in the person of Neil Armstrong got down from the space shuttle and made contact with the moon, he had this to say:

This may be a small step for a man, but it will definitely be a giant leap for mankind.

As we have seen in the field of astro travel, you will agree with me that a lot has happened after the first moon landing, and all these have given substance to the words of Neil Armstrong. The actions you take today, even though they may look small, may be what will create the kind of future that you want. When a farmer goes to plant his seeds, some of them may be very tiny (like the grains of millet, etc), but they hold the capacity to produce bountiful harvests. Obviously, the size of the harvest is not determined primarily by the size of the seed, if it is, then a seed like mustard will not produce a giant tree. In the same way, the little efforts you put into life, when they are continuous, will produce big results.

Let no one convince you that you are not doing well. As long as you are making attempts and putting efforts towards your dream, then you are doing well. More so, you should not always rate your efforts by the immediate returns, because some of the results are reserved for the future. Whatever you are doing, you have to remember that consistency in what you are doing, even if it may look small, holds more value than waiting for when you will do it big. This goes to prove this popular quote as I conclude with it:

Little drops of rain (continuously) will form a mighty ocean.
