Many of the successful people that you have heard about have encountered "No" in more ways than you can ever imagine, but they did not allow it to deter them from trying again. The truth is that your failures do not define who you are and they will not determine your future, but only if you will be motivated by them, learn from them and keep trying. As long as you have not conceded to the temporary failure, then success is still attainable. You only lose sight of success when you get distracted by the failed attempts, so always focus your attention on the goals and not on the failures.

If someone is rejected, it is not a time to brood over it or keep sulking about it, but to understand why the rejection came, then work to be better. If you apply for a job and you were rejected, do you fold your hands and watch or do you try other places and even improve yourself to give you an edge? While others may see rejection as failures, the successful people see it as a motivation that; firstly, it is a prove that they are trying. Secondly, that they need to work to be better and increase their worth. You will be surprised that there is a level at which you will improve yourself and success will literally be chasing after you.
I remember when a friend tendered a quotation for a particular contract job. During the course of interviewing him, they told him that he was not qualified for the contract. Well, he did not give up on himself, rather his inner passion was fuelled by that statement of rejection. What he did was that he went on to acquire extensive skills about that particular field and became so good at it. Later, he applied for the same contract in a rival company and he got it. He executed the contract with so much ingenuity to the extent that the former contractor gave him an invitation for the contract. Well, at that point, he gave them his own terms and conditions.
From the story of my friend, you will understand one thing: to the determined people, rejection can be a big source of motivation. I remember the story of Ben Carson during the young days of his life. His school teacher told him how he will not amount to anything successful. But he never allowed this statement to chart a negative course for himself, rather he determined to prove the teacher wrong. He took up his books with all seriousness and gave it everything it required. That was how he rose to became one the most celebrated neurosurgeons of all time. This is simply because he was motivated by what was meant to discourage him.
Another similar story was that of Mark Zuckerberg. During his time at college, one of his teachers also made similar statement to him. Of which he responded that he will be a millionaire by the age of 30. Amazingly, by the age of 31, he was already a billionaire and one of the youngest billionaires at that time. Not just that, his former school now has a page in his Facebook inc. All these were born out of the mind of determination to succeed and never taking "no" for an answer. He did not concede to rejection, rather he was motivated by it and that was how he created his own impact.
If you are waiting for the road to success to be paved with gold, then you will wait till infinity. The road to success is, most times, full of undulating tracks and challenges, of which "rejection" may be one of them, but as long as you do not give up, then success is attainable.

The man that founded KFC (Kentucky Fried Chicken), Col Harland Sanders, after he had failed repeatedly in his life and was already old, he created the recipe for his KFC. At that point, he needed partnership and all, so he took the recipe to various eateries and was also rejected multiple times. For someone to have been rejected for almost a thousand times but he kept pressing on, this was the height of motivation and determination. At last, he finally got a "Yes" and that was what gave birth to KFC. Today, KFC franchise has become so successful that it is found around the world and has become a household name. You see, as long as you have not conceded to the temporary failure, then success is still attainable.
