It does not matter how life comes at you, there will always be something to live for. There is something you are to achieve; your purpose, without which there will be a void. The truth is that there is no human that is without a purpose, but the onus is on each person to find out their own and pursue after it. It is by pursuing after your purpose that fulfilment comes. If you do not show yourself the reasons to live, life may become a burden. It is not enough to just exist here on earth, you have to step up to truly living.

When you wake up in the morning, there is something to get you off the bed, get you on your feet and get you prepared; you leave the house to purpose something and then you give it all it takes until it is achieved: it is called "purpose." Everyone should recognise that they are responsible for how their life will turn out to be. Even though you may have a purpose to fulfil, but you have the absolute responsibility to put in the required actions to see it fulfilled. You have to understand that no matter how nice your goal may look and no matter the purpose you think you have, they will not fulfill themselves - you need to put in the required efforts and actions.

If you want to become a pilot for example, you have to undertake the required actions that will lead you to fulfilling your purpose of becoming a pilot. The first is to get enrolled into an aviation school, then come under the tutelage of flight instructors who will put you through some flying routines. When you are certified in all these and have satisfied the requirements in these, you will become a licensed pilot. In other aspects of the human life too, the process has to precede the result. That is, if you want to have the result, you need to take the responsibility of action. A friend once said:

Greatness does not stumble and fall on people.

If you must achieve greatness, then you must work for it. It is worth noting that everyone bears a full and absolute responsibility for the outcome of their life. What this means is that you determine, to a considerably large extent, what happens in your life. It is true that other factors like luck and other inexplicable phenomena may have a part to play, but the bulk of the work rests on your shoulders. If you do not have what to live for or something to create a sense of purpose for you, you will likely fall for anything. Having a mission is what helps you to still find live worth living. And makes you to live your desired dream life.

There is nothing that keeps one on their feet as a sense of mission, which also creates a sense of purpose for them. Obviously, when there is a mission and a purpose, there will be the provision to match. You will agree with me that the earth and many other things in it, are almost entirely governed by principles. If you must succeed in a particular field, you must have to meet the demands of that particular field. There are no rewards without actions and there are no results without labour. In academics for example, it is after you have put in extensive work to study and sit for an exam that will will receive your desired result. This also applies to other aspects and fields of human endeavours.

In the journey to the pursuit of your purpose, you have to bear in mind that there may be no shortcuts. You have to first declare your goals (the purpose you are to fulfil), and then define the actions that will lead you to fulfilling it (your plans). Then after you have mapped out your plans, you will begin to take actions on them. It is when you have satisfied these requirements that your goals will be fulfilled. If you try to follow shortcuts to arrive at your desired destination, you may end up missing it completely. The process may look long but if it is the right course, then it will be worth it at the end. After all, nothing of value is without obvious price to be paid.
