One of the major challenges that most people face is because all they want is to be right at all times. The truth is, if you become right and end up losing your humanity and even losing friendship, what will it profit you? You can just sacrifice your being right, not only for peace to reign, but to achieve kindness. In an argument, as an instance, you do not have to win at all times if you will end up losing a major part of what makes you human.

It may even surprise you to know that sometimes that you may be the one that is actually wrong and if you hold on tenaciously to your opinion, you may continue in your wrongness. That you are right about something does not mean that the other person that has a contrasting opinion is wrong. After all, your perception of "6" to someone opposite you may be a "9".
Letting things to go does not qualify you as a weakling. As a matter of fact, it takes a considerable amount of strength and maturity to sacrifice your rightness for kindness and for peace to reign, so you are actually the stronger person. If you see a relationship where the both parties are struggling to be right at all the time, it will not be long and the relationship will hit rock bottom. In relationship for example, one party has to let go of things just to maintain the relationship.
Imagine if after you have put in your energy to win an argument and you eventually won, but you lost your relationship or your friendship, will it be worth it? Is it better to lose a minor fist-fight and win a much bigger war or to win the fist-fight and lose the war? You see, in life, there are points that you have to make sacrifices. As you get more mature and as you grow older, you will realize that people's feelings and emotions matter too and there are actions that can crush such person's emotions and may change them permanently.
As you relate more with people, you will tend to appreciate more the value of having people around. What will you gain if you hold on to a particular opinion and lose friendships and relationship, and may even end up being lonely? Inasmuch as you are to value yourself and hold yourself high, you should also understand that the world does not revolve around you and that you cannot be right all the time. If you are the only one that is right at all the times among your friends and others, then you probably might be the one that is actually wrong.

No human can confidently say that he is an island or that he is absolutely self-made. If you understand this, you will not sacrifice the friendship and relationship you have with people just for a momentary feeling of rightness. The truth is that, in the end, what will matter is our humanity and not how many times we were right about an opinion. As a matter of fact, when you are gone, you memory will not be remembered because you were always right, but because of your humanity.
There are sometimes that an action you may want to take may ultimately lead you to becoming unkind, the best thing will be to let go of such actions. One of the moments that matter to an individual and to humanity is the moment you make sacrifices - sacrifices to save a friend, sacrifices to turn towards kindness, sacrifices to let go, even sacrifices to spare an enemy. This is why it has been said that the beauty of life lies in making sacrifices. If others have sacrificed one thing or the other for you, it is also expected that you do that for others too.
