In this present time, it looks like the world is now setting standards for success, achievement, and a lot of other things, which can make someone to feel like they are not enough. Everyday you live and with what is happening around the world, and with what is presented to you, you may even begin to question your worth. With the social media pressures that people face on a daily basis, the financial challenges, academic pressure, societal expectations, etc, one may begin to be cracked under the pressure and it may even result in self-doubt. But what you should constantly reminded yourself is that you are enough, more than enough to handle what may be thrown at you.

Knowing your worth is recognizing that you are valuable, and this is without a recourse to what the prevailing situations may be. You have to recognise that you are worth good things, and also worthy of kindness, love and respect. Just to be very clear; that you know your worth does not mean the assumptions of perfection, or claiming to be without flaws, rather it means you have grown to the point of accepting your own self the way you are, while making continuous and conscious efforts to become better than you were. You also need to know that your flaws and your imperfections do not reduce your self-worth as long as you are striving towards becoming a better human.

In order to embrace your worth, you have to start by reflecting on yourself. Self-awareness is a fundamental way to realising your self-worth. That is, taking time to reflect on yourself, to know what your strengths, weaknesses, flaws, and imperfections are. This also includes reflecting on your journey so far, how you started, and where you are going to. Trust me, you have passed through what a lot of other people may not have survived, and you have successfully pushed through, which has shaped your character. What you have survived should make you see that you are indeed more than enough.

You have to also remove competition and comparison mentality if you must embrace your self-worth. You are not to fulfill the standards set by others, nor are you competing against anyone. You are here to fulfill your own purpose, to actualize your dreams, and to create impact, not to be in a competition with anyone. More so, you are not to compare someone's success with what you want to achieve. That they have succeeded does not mean that you have failed, neither does it mean that you will not succeed. After all everyone has a different and unique path to destiny. Trying to compare yourself with others will simply rob you of your joy, because you will not see your true worth but you are just trying to fulfill the standards that are set by others. You can be motivated by someone success, but do not allow it to become a comparison for you.

Another important way to embrace your self-worth is to learn to practise self-love and then speak positivities into your life. Instead of dwelling on negative words, it will be better to speak positive words that will make you act positively. Like you can tell yourself "I can make it," "I am enough," "I deserve to get good things." When you begin to speak these words into your life, it will not be long and you will internalise them and they will become part of you. Your thought and your words do not only build you up, they also form your reality.

In addition to speaking positively to yourself, you also need to be with people that will also speak positively to you and remind you that you are enough. The words you tend to hear often can also influence your own thought pattern. So if the people around you speak positively to you, it will also help you to think positively of yourself.

Lastly, you have to understand that your past mistake should not define both your present and your future. Do not tie yourself to the wrong step you took in the past, you have to learn to move on. Know that no human is perfectly immune to errors, so your errors are not who you are; you are worth more than them. Everyday that comes will definitely present with new opportunities, so look forward to that and not on your past mistakes.
