Exhibiting Good Attitudes And Character Towards People: The Benefits
The need to have a good attitude can never be overemphasized. As a matter of fact, there is almost nothing that makes one adorable like their good character. Someone may be fine on the outside but after dealing with them and seeing their nasty attitude, they will lose their beauty in your sight. But someone else may not be appealing physically but when you get to meet them and relate with them, by their good attitude, you will find them more attractive. This goes to show the power of attitude and character.

Some people are just plainly rude that their attitudes repel people from them. The truth is that it is not a matter of being "real" or being yourself, all these are not excuses for possessing a bad attitude. It is worthy to note that having or exhibiting a good attitude does more good to you than the person you are exhibiting it to, and it has significant benefits in every area of human endeavour; from relationships, to your dealings with people, to work, etc. Another thing to know is that every human has the propensity to exhibit a good attitude, same way they also have the tendency to show bad habit. It is just by choice.
You do not have to let situations bring out the nastiness in you. Trust me, a lot of people are also passing through a similar or even worse situation than whatever you think you are passing through, so why are you the only one being triggered by your own? This is why you have to build and develop yourself to be able to manage what situations bring at you. However, it is important to note that until you have been able to manage yourself on the inside, you cannot effectively manage the outside.
Many people are fighting battles that you may not be able to think of, and the least thing you can do for them, if you cannot help them, is not to complicate matters by bringing in bad attitude to it. There are lots of people who do not have problem making friends but to sustain and retain the friendship becomes the problem. Of course, no one will gladly deal with nastiness in attitude, they would rather dissociate from you.
I once met a very beautiful lady in a bus when I was travelling sometimes ago. We sat together so it would be normal to exchange few discussions. We got talking and something led me to ask ask about her friends but she revealed that she had none at the moment and that people do not like staying around her, and even attributed it to some "village people". I thought she was kidding, because how will a beautiful lady say that people do not like staying around her? I smiled and told her we can be friends, so we got talking. But before we got to our destination, I was already repelled by her bad attitude and character; her rudeness, disrespect, etc. She would just make utterance without thinking, and she thinks that the world is revolving around her. I was already wishing for the bus to arrive fast so that I could get out and move away from her. At that point, I understood what was repelling others from her: it was not any village people, but her attitude.

Some relationships have also crashed simply because of bad attitude. It is true that someone may be attracted to you for a variety of reasons, and they even flirt with you because of your beauty or handsomeness, but when they want to get serious, they will look beyond all that and look at your character and attitude.
You will be surprised what you stand to gain simply by being of a good and positive character. On the other hand, being of a bad character robs you of many things, so make your choice. No one is impressed by how badly you treat people. If you respect your bosses, you should also respect the gateman and the gardener, this is what makes you a good person - not selectively choosing who to respect and who to be cruel to. Your good attitude should be to all, not just to a few. Of course, the person you disrespect today may be who is supposed to help you tomorrow. So think about it.
