Each day is a blessing and a very special one, so you should live your life in that consciousness. Of course, every day is an addition, not just to your years, but to you as an individual. You do not have to wait for a special day to do that special thing that you have always wanted to do, today is that special day - do it. The truth is that each moment you have will also have its challenges, so you either focus on that or on the fact that you are blessed to see another moment. If you are waiting until you have solved all your problems before you will begin to enjoy life, then you will wait for a very long time.

I remember when I was growing, we were normally bought clothes for special festivals and occasions, and those clothes will be used for only those occasions. But when I grew up, I realized that you do not have to wait for only a special occasion to look good or to dress nice, you can do that everyday. Come to think of this; there are some people that will not eat a particular delicacy until they have a festival. I mean, they forget that each days matters too and should be treated as such.

If you have the mentality that everyday that you live has its goodness and is special, you will make the most of every moment of the day. It is worthy to note that you do not need to be super rich in order to enjoy your moment, you only need to be contented with what you have and mixed with happiness, then you will have reasons to enjoy. You will be surprised that there are some rich people that have abundance of what money can buy, but they are very sad and cannot even enjoy the money that they have. This is why I believe that, even though money is very good and needed, it still cannot buy everything. You need to also focus on what money cannot buy.

It takes a change in mindset and mentality to be able to understand that it is how you approach a day that it will respond to you. If you take each day as being special, you will tend to approach it positively and if you do, then the result will also be positive. In the same way, when you wake up and say "today is not special, it is just a normal usual day," you will not put in extraordinary efforts into the day and it will not give you its full benefits. I have come to realise that some of the best things of life happen on the days that others will term as "just normal day."

A friend of mine once share about how she met her husband. She was going to the mall to get a few things and she entered the bus, a guy sat beside him. The guy does not normally take bus but his car had battery issues so he decided to take the bus instead. When he sat beside her, the first thing he noticed was her perfume that smelled so nice. So he complimented her and she smiled. His eyes could not leave her, because she dressed well and all. He forced himself to initiate a discussion with her and surprisingly, the discussion flowed. It was adorable for him to discover that they were both going to the same mall.

By the time they got down from the bus, they were already deep into the discussion and they continued while walking towards the mall. It was as if they had known themselves for so long. That was how they started and the long story cut short is that they are now couples. Imagine if the girl had been so casual or unconcerned about her appearance, the story may not have been the same. I remember what a friend of mine once said, even though it is relative. He said "do not be caught looking casual, always look your best."

Everything you planned to do on a special day should be done today. Which day could be more important to take that decision, to make that long-awaited move, to take the required risk than today? When you take that action today, even if the result is not what you had expected, at least there will be enough time to make corrections and to take another step than if you have been waiting to take it and not take it at all.
